Avoid the scams, find out which Business Opportunities actually work

Recently I picked up a copy of a manual called AutoProfits which is offered through Nick Laight’s Canonbury Publishing company.

AutoProfits is written by Mark Hempshell, a used car trader who sells cars through eBay for profit.

The manual promises to reveal “How to Pocket £14,000 – £130,0000 a year selling just 1 used car per week on eBay

I really liked the manual, this is a system which can be very profitable and Mark has laid it out in an easy-to-understand format. In the new year, a friend and I will be starting a little side business following the ideas put forward in this system (more to follow).

Yesterday a subscriber of the Free Business Opportunities Email Newsletter sent me an email to let me know that he had bought the manual and was also impressed:

Hi Ben

You mention Cannonbury Publishing now and again in your blog.

I have bought one or two things from them – mostly Avril Harper manuals.

One that I did get recently was “Autoprofits! – How to Pocket £14,000 – £130,000 a year selling just 1 used car per week on ebay.”

I don’t know if you have come across this at all, but I was impressed.

The manual is spiral bound A4 format with 71 pages of close type.

The guy who has written it (Mark Hempshell) is obviously “in the business” and appears to really know what he is talking about. The impressive part is not so much the ebay selling information – although that’s in depth – but his insight into the second hand car market and the tricks and know-how that he is willing to give away in the manual. Also he goes into detail about what you should be buying, and what to avoid.

Selling second hand cars is not going to be for everyone but you can’t argue with a couple of hundred, up to a couple of thousand pounds, in profit every time you sell on ebay!

He even gives you an email address to contact him for ongoing support if required. (I haven’t tried to contact him yet so I have no idea if he will respond.)

Will I try selling cars on ebay? Well, that remains to be seen but if I do then I certainly will be doing it with this manual by my side!

I think Cannonbury have really scored here, if you think you might like to be the next Arfur Daily! (Giving away my age now.)

Regards

Ian

I have been buying a lot of stuff on eBay recently, some great stuff too for pennies on the pound.

Of course, it is all biz opp related gear (as if I haven’t got enough of the stuff already!)…

Recent wins included:

Stephen Pierce’s Multi-Dimensional Marketing home study course. This is an A4 sized manual, 2 DVDs and 2 CDs all wrapped up in a nice presentation folder.

If you’ve never heard of Stephen before then it’s fair to say that he is a very successful online marketer.

My only previous experience of him was from the Entrepreneur’s Bootcamp in November 2005 where he did a two hour set (see http://www.Entrepreneur-Bootcamp.org) and also from some DVDs I have of Carl Galletti’s Internet Marketing Superconference from 2003.

I think he is friends with Andrew Reynolds as he is now on the Entrepreneur Channel with a couple of segments (Sky 682).

I also got hold of yet another Streetwise Publications product – “The Streetwise Internet Poker Home Study Course” which is well over 100 pages long. To be quite honest, I’ve never played Poker in my life but I know that it is huge so it is worth looking into.

Thirdly I got hold of Vince Stanzione’s seminar from 2002 – 6 videos and a workbook.

Now, this particular video set doesn’t come up for sale that often on eBay.

There is someone who sells videos of a Stanzione seminar on eBay. Although the seller claims they are from “2002/2003”, when you watch them you find out they were filmed in 2000 and Vince is recommending that you use futures pagers. Well past their sell-by date!

Three bargains there then, when I really should’ve been Christmas shopping! Oh well, still 2 weeks left for that…

It was earlier this week that I sent off for Nick James’ new product which he has called the “Secrets of Licensing – How Big Business Makes Its Money and How You Can Too”. I received it the next day (yesterday) and watched the DVD immediately.

Today I have been reading through the manual to learn more about what licensing actually involves.

A full review will follow in time but for the moment I have decided to move quickly on this one.

Along with the 119 page printed A4 manual and the DVD, when you buy the Secrets of Licensing course you also get reprint licenses to 4 products.

I have picked one product and found an excellent domain name to register, purchasing it along with hosting. I have also put in a bid request on RentaCoder.com for someone to write me 10 articles related to the product.

The idea is that I will get the sales page up and running and also submit the articles all over the internet to draw customers to the site – hopefully to buy the product.

It was quite fitting that someone emailed today with a relevant question:

Hi Ben

I’m emailing you as you seem to be a real human being at the end of an e-mail address.

I probably subscribe to over 30 “internet experts” mailing list.

Everything I come across seems to be saturated (reselling ebooks) or zero chance of working.

The latest scheme I tried was selling other peoples products via Clickbank.

I’ve probably spent thousands of pounds over the years and it gets to the stage where you hold your hand up and say “ok I’ve been had”

I’m convinced there is something worthwile out there but I havent found it yet.

Can you be completely honest with me and tell me if there is something out there and that you honestly do it yourself?

Thanks

I will admit that there are a lot of “oversold” resale rights products on the internet. Most are hawked on eBay for pennies and, therefore, should prove to you that they are pretty much useless!

However, there are some gems out there if you are careful about what you buy.

For example, in the early months of this year I was offered two products, with full resale rights for £27.99 each. I got them “out there” quickly and since then I have grossed almost £2k in sales for these 2 products. Lots of other people also bought these products but I have not seen many being advertised. Where I have, they are not offered with much “gusto”, the seller has simply chucked a sales page up with a PayPal button at the bottom.

So, there is one example of something which has worked for me. I have everything about selling those products completely automated such as automatic delivery (through MyDigitalDispatch).

In the case of the licenses I got with Nick’s product, I will probably have some of the manuals rewritten and also repackage them with new “virtual” pictures of the eBooks. I may even rename the products.

A lot of products which seem to be “saturated” can actually still make a lot of money. It’s like any business opportunity – you have to tweak it so that you stand out above any other competitors.

As for selling other people’s products for commission, I do that too all the time. Still works well for me, you just have to work that little bit harder than everyone else – 95% of your competitors are very lack lustre in their attitude and give up far too easily.

I will come back to this point in the future and I will let you know how I got on with my new products.

In the meantime, see the site for more details about this opportunity – a review will come soon:

I am not a fan of these sites which claim to show you how to make an income from filling in surveys online.

One famous site claims that you could:

“…make $25 in 8 minutes, over and over again, sitting at home in your pajamas…”

It’s all a load of hot air designed to make your get your wallet out and spend $39-$100 for a list of links.

In fact, I got an email from a subscriber today which confirmed that paid survey schemes should definitely be avoided unless you want to earn pin money:

Hi Ben
The competition is a great idea, I thought my experiences in the world of Filling in Surveys would be a good entry, as I am still smarting about it.
Particularly as they seem to be doing the rounds again.
I paid about £60 to a company and received links to about 300 websites
Of these, around 60-70% were American and of little or no use. Around 20% seemed to be ok and I spent a few weeks filling in surveys, but either my profile didnt fit or the rewards were just not worth the time.
But worst of all, around 10% were in fact, porn sites masquarading as survey sites, and although I got a warning once I had entered and didnt open up the porn, I inadvertantly infected my computer with a virus.
This resulted in it being necessary to strip out Windows and AOL and have it reinstalled at a cost of £150.
So members should be warned if they are considering this method of making money.
As far as I am concerned – ITS A SCAM.

Regards Mike

Thanks for the contribution Mike.

Please take heed – online paid surveys are not the huge “cash cows” that they are made out to be!
